BYD Qin/Song PLUS EV listed from 129,800 yuan to 169,800 yuan.

BYD and BYD officially went public tonight, and launched four models and two models respectively, with the price ranges of 129.8-166,800 yuan and 169.8-186,800 yuan respectively. Qin PLUS EV is positioned as a pure electric compact car, and Song PLUS EV is positioned as a pure electric compact SUV. Both new cars are equipped with BYD’s latest Ferrous lithium phosphate blade battery.

Qin PLUSEV

Qin PLUS EV adopts a brand-new EV Dragon Face design language in appearance, so it looks quite a bit like a small Chinese EV. The rear of the car also adopts a coupe-style sliding back design, which adds a lot of sporty atmosphere to the whole car. The length, width and height of the car body are 4765mm×1837mm×1515mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2715 mm.

The interior part adopts the same design as that listed before, but the original small-size suspended full LCD instrument has become an embedded design, which creates an excellent sense of technology and exquisiteness with the design of the upper embracing cockpit and the large-size suspended central control panel.

The new car will use a motor with a maximum power of 135kW, which is matched with BYD’s latest Ferrous lithium phosphate blade battery, and the NEDC cruising range can reach 600km.

Song PLUSEV

Like Qin PLUS EV, Song PLUS EV adopts a brand-new EV Dragon Face design language, but because Song PLUS EV is an SUV model, it is more borrowed from Tang EV in design language. However, the shape of the rear of the car basically follows the design of the already listed Song PLUS DM-i, and the penetrating taillights further stretch the visual width. The length, width and height of the car body are 4705mm×1890mm×1680mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2765 mm.

As a whole, the interior is almost the same as that of the Song PLUS DM-i, and the combination of full LCD instrument and large-size central control panel still brings a strong sense of technology. The two-color color scheme and the very stretched design lines make the interior look rich in texture.

In terms of power, the new car provides two motors, with the maximum power of 120kW(163Ps) and 135kW(184Ps) and the maximum torque of 280N·m, which are matched with BYD’s latest Ferrous lithium phosphate blade battery, and will provide two NEDC cruising ranges of 405km and 505km depending on the matching power.

Summary:

It has been more than a year since BYD’s Ferrous lithium phosphate blade battery was first released in March 2020. In addition to its more prominent safety performance, its energy density has been further improved. The two new cars listed this time will naturally be equipped with this latest blade battery. I believe that with the latest design language of BYD, they will still be the leaders of their own brand pure electric vehicles in their respective levels in the future.
