Reporter: At the China 2020 committee of 100 High-level Forum on Electric Vehicles, Miao Wei, Minister of Industry and Information Technology of China, said that the subsidy for new energy vehicles will not be further reduced on July 1, 2020. Can you explain this in detail?
In this regard, the heads of relevant departments of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China responded that in the process of the development of new energy automobile industry in China, relevant support policies, especially financial subsidy policies, have played a very important role in cultivating the consumer market and promoting industrial development. Since last year, the production and sales of new energy vehicles in China have declined for the first time due to multiple factors, such as the macro-economic pressure, the price reduction of the national five-emission vehicles and the decline of financial subsidies. During the committee of 100 Forum, many enterprises asked whether the financial subsidy would be reduced as it was last year around July 1 this year, and whether it would be withdrawn completely at the end of the year. Miao Wei, Minister of Industry and Information Technology of China, responded at the meeting. In order to stabilize market expectations and ensure the healthy and sustainable development of the industry, this year’s subsidy policy for new energy vehicles will remain relatively stable, and there will be no sharp decline. I hope that industry enterprises will firmly develop their confidence, increase innovation, improve product quality, strengthen market development, and jointly promote the high-quality development of China’s new energy automobile industry.
