"Fast and stable" to solve the battery anxiety of mobile phone users

– Exploring the quality code of Xiaomi’s ultimate innovation system for charging technology

Our reporter, Yue Qian

How to charge quickly is a must-have option in modern life, not only to be able to charge, but also as fast as possible. Xiaomi’s super fast charging technology has brought unexpected surprises to consumers: it only takes 8 minutes to fill a 4000mAh battery, enough to use normally for a whole day.

Xiaomi’s innovation has relieved people of the need to worry about running out of battery power on their mobile phones.

Imagine what you can do in the 8 minutes after getting up in the morning? Have a cup of coffee to refresh yourself? Simply stretch? Or take a shower? For Xiaomi’s phone, these 8 minutes are enough to power it up for the new day.

From the world’s first 120W wired fast charging technology to the world’s first 200W charging technology, Xiaomi has brought mobile phone charging into the "8-minute era", truly achieving a "qualitative change" in the charging experience, and allowing more and more users to completely bid farewell to power anxiety.

Behind this technological change is the ultimate innovation system of mobile phone charging technology launched by Xiaomi since September 2018. In just over two years, Xiaomi has completed the change from "chaser" to "transcendent" to "leader" in the field of mobile phone charging with the spirit of self-evolution, and once again verified the strong driving force of Xiaomi’s "user-centered" quality improvement concept.

The reporter conducted in-depth interviews with the ultimate innovation system of mobile phone charging technology to explore the quality code of Xiaomi’s charging technology evolution iteration.

Quality password one:

Driving technological innovation with user feedback

What is the driving force of technological innovation and quality improvement? At Xiaomi, this answer has long been deeply rooted in the hearts of the people – user-centered, with the ultimate goal of pursuing the ultimate user experience. For the research and development of charging technology, it is not only to make mobile phone charging faster and more stable, but also to make the charging experience better and cooler.

In the process of technological improvement, Xiaomi innovatively built the UIOCT system of charging technology. The system is based on improving the user’s charging experience, taking user feedback and pain points as the starting point and driving force for continuous technological innovation, and ending with the landing of new products requested by users. "For charging technology research and development, the user is the starting point and the end point" – this is the consensus of the charging technology team.

In order to truly understand the needs of users, the charging technology team collects user feedback and suggestions through various channels such as Xiaomi community, service system, customer service phone, etc., analyzes user pain points and makes improvements one by one. Many problems do not have ready-made solutions to learn from, and the team can only explore in the "no man’s land", through continuous trial and error to find the most satisfactory solution for users.

Can charging be faster? This is the common expectation of mobile phone users. Under the condition of existing lithium batteries, Xiaomi has created a multi-level progressive current regulation technology in the industry, which can refine the charging current step by step, effectively increasing the charging speed by more than 10%.

When charging, it generates heat, which is caused by the characteristics of the lithium battery of the mobile phone, and it is also a problem in the industry. Is it a detour or a face-to-face difficulty? Xiaomi’s engineers chose the latter and innovatively developed a dual-mode switching control technology, allowing users to adaptively switch the charging mode according to the usage scenario, effectively dispersing hotspots and bringing a better temperature rise experience.

Nowadays, in order to improve the battery power of mobile phones, mainstream manufacturers almost all adopt the "dual-cell" solution, but with it, the battery loss increases and the battery life is reduced. This is also the reason why users complain that "charging fast and falling fast". In this regard, Xiaomi once again broke out of the new track and innovatively developed the single-cell charging chip Surging P1, which makes the battery cell density higher and the battery life longer, achieving "both fish and bear’s paw".

In order to make charging more convenient, Xiaomi customized a fast charging cable. Considering that users may use other brands of charging plugs, engineers have carried out a large number of self-developed designs while also taking into account the charging compatibility of the cable. For all mainstream brands of chargers and mobile phones on the market, they have done technical tests. "This job is completely to make it more convenient for users to use." In order to solve the problem of incompatible charging plugs of a certain brand, engineers worked overtime until late at night for several days, and finally solved the problem, so as to ensure that users can enjoy a fast and stable charging experience no matter which charging plug they use.

It is worth mentioning that while solving users’ charging pain points, Xiaomi has also created a charging experience that exceeds expectations for users through technological innovation, and even changed consumers’ charging habits. Taking 200W second charging technology as an example, you can fully charge your phone in the morning, and you no longer have to worry about forgetting to charge. "Once you have this experience, you (users) can’t go back," the team leader said proudly.

Quality password two:

Establishment of an Interdisciplinary Expert Review Committee (TMG)

For a long time, the field of mobile phone charging technology has faced the "28 dilemma", that is, high-current charging time only accounts for 20% of the total charging time, but can charge 80% of the power; constant-voltage charging time accounts for 80% of the total charging time, and can only charge 20% of the power.

In order to solve the "28 dilemma", it involves charging solutions, charging chips, charging equipment and other departments and fields, each with its own technical difficulties and bottlenecks. In the face of new technical solutions, different departments will have different views. On the one hand is the solution to the problem that has been hard to come up with, and on the other hand is the latent risk that may arise. Should we continue or give up?

At the "crossroads" of technology, the cross-disciplinary expert review committee (TMG) built on Xiaomi’s organizational structure plays a key role.

Engineer Jiang Helin introduced that in order to break through the "28 dilemma", the Xiaomi charging technology team finally discussed and came up with the MI-FC solution idea of "increasing the voltage value of the battery and prolonging the charging time of high current" through dozens of brainstorms. However, increasing the voltage will cause risks such as excessive oxidation, resulting in shorter battery life.

Experts in different fields in TMG jointly review the technical solution from objectives, risks to feasibility, leadership and other dimensions. In the technical pre-research stage, TMG can accurately and quickly determine the solution; in terms of solving technical differences, TMG can upgrade the device pre-research to the whole machine charging pre-research, realizing from a single partial design to overall performance debugging, thereby improving the user experience.

Specific to the MI-FC technical solution, TMG experts anticipate that the solution is feasible and recommend that aging tests be carried out as soon as possible to verify whether there is a risk of excessive oxidation. After a series of work such as proofing and testing, the team spent more than 5 months to finally formulate a feasible plan. Due to sufficient pre-research, the plan was successfully transplanted to the device-level project, which greatly reduced the time required to develop the device and fully guaranteed the research and development efficiency.

Not only the MI-FC technical solution, but also the more than 800 patents applied by the project team are inseparable from the technical assistance of TMG. TMG comprehensively considers and evaluates various technical solutions to ensure the accuracy of the research and development direction and escort the overall innovation of mobile phone charging technology.

Quality password three:

The research and development of excellence

In the process of reaching the peak of technology, the Xiaomi charging technology team also encountered many difficulties, but every time they relied on uncompromising research and development determination to successfully break through.

Li Min, an engineer at the baseband technology department of the hardware R & D department, said that in order to achieve 120W second charging, Xiaomi specially developed a custom charging chip. But less than four months before mass production, the chip temperature was too high. "There was too much pressure at that time, but we had to find out the reason." Li Min said that Xiaomi has never been vague about the quality requirements of the product.

The team and suppliers sorted out all possible reasons from hardware to software, and the technicians directly entered the factory to conduct nearly a month of non-stop testing, troubleshooting problems one by one, and conducting 500 to 700 stress tests on each batch of new samples (under normal circumstances, only one stress testing is required). Finally, the yield of customized chips was reduced from the highest 1000ppm to less than 50ppm, fundamentally solving the quality risk of chips, and bringing the most advanced charging experience to the long-awaited users as scheduled.

In the eyes of the engineers of Xiaomi’s charging technology team, records are meant to be broken. After achieving the 120W second charging technology, Xiaomi continued to explore the "no man’s land" in the field of second charging technology and began the research and development of the 200W second charging technology.

In order to avoid the short circuit problem that may be caused by high-power charging, the team needs to minimize the thickness of the battery pole pieces and minimize the transmission path, which brings great challenges to the processing process of the battery pole pieces. To this end, the engineers started from various aspects such as equipment improvement and process improvement. After many tuning on more than 6,000 batteries, they solved many problems such as pole piece fracture and curling. Finally, they successfully developed a 10C pole piece with a thickness of only half of the traditional pole piece, which is about the thickness of a piece of A4 paper. "At present, only Xiaomi can do it in the industry." Jiang Helin said proudly.

Those who win are powerful, and those who win are strong. In the eyes of reporters, Xiaomi’s charging technology is already leading the industry. But Xiaomi is putting pressure on itself to compete with itself in the "no man’s land" and constantly surpass itself, which is very commendable. For industrial development, this "leader" is leading the industrial chain, supply chain and quality chain to achieve a comprehensive leap, promoting the high-quality development of the smartphone industry, and accumulating more positive energy for China’s manufacturing "quality revolution".

"China Quality News"

Dong Mingzhu still doesn’t understand Lei Jun, Xiaomi air conditioner sales exceed Gree

On the evening of June 2, CCTV Financial Channel exposed the industry behind the second-hand air conditioner renovation fraud.

In this news program, CCTV gave a rare thumbs up to Xiaomi Air Conditioning. The content of the news was about Beijing issuing subsidies for the trade-in of smart consumer goods. The report said that Xiaomi became the object of everyone’s praise. The report also mentioned that the service of Xiaomi Air Conditioning is very good. When you buy Xiaomi Air Conditioning, when the new machine is delivered, the installer will remove the original old machine and directly install the new machine to complete the trade-in in one stop.

After the CCTV coverage, Lei Jun first reprinted the news to his Weibo. After the CCTV report, Xiaomi air conditioner caused a heated discussion on the Internet.

According to the data, millet air conditioner has quietly become a market giant, 2024Q1 overall shipments reached 690,000 units, an increase of 63%. The industry forecasts that the shipment of millet air conditioner will reach 7 million units in 2024.

Xiaomi air conditioner has led Gree

In the hot season, the air-conditioning market also ushered in the annual sales feast. When the bell of 618 rang, a contest between air-conditioning and technology began quietly, and the result of this battle shocked the entire industry – 618 air-conditioning sales ranking: Xiaomi No. 1, Gree No. 5, a new era seems to be coming quietly.

The Xiaomi brand was originally closely linked to smartphones, but in just six years, it has run a remarkable trajectory as a new horse in the air-conditioning industry. In the summer of 2018, Xiaomi ventured into the air-conditioning field for the first time. For this challenging market, Xiaomi is like a passionate explorer, with a unique understanding of intelligent life, stepping into this territory that seems to have been divided by giants.

Its star product, Xiaomi’s giant power-saving air conditioner, is the secret weapon in this counterattack war. With its ultra-high energy efficiency ratio and intelligent experience, Xiaomi air conditioner quickly captured the hearts of young consumers. On the hot-selling list of JD.com 618, this air conditioner is based on the trust of more than 1 million users. It sold 20,000 units only three days before the event, topped the chart continuously, and wrote a legend from nobody to king.

Xiaomi’s success is not just the accumulation of numbers, but also the result of profound insight into market demand. Behind every air conditioner sold is a family’s desire to improve the quality of smart life and trust in Xiaomi’s brand concept. Through the characteristics of intelligent interconnection, energy conservation and environmental protection, Xiaomi air conditioners have attracted modern families’ yearning for green and healthy life, and have successfully found their place at the intersection of traditional and emerging consumer concepts.

On the other hand, Gree, once known as the air conditioner kingdom, is a little powerless in the face of a rising star like Xiaomi. Although Gree Yunjia series air conditioners attack with a new level of energy efficiency and affordable prices, and even reduce the price to 2699 yuan over the years, in the fierce competition of 618, only more than 10,000 units are sold. The halo of the former hegemon, under the impact of new forces, appears to be a little dim.

Recalling the "clash" between Dong Mingzhu and Lei Jun in public many years ago, Dong Mingzhu bluntly said that Xiaomi was an "OEM" and questioned Lei Jun’s business model. However, today, the market has given a different answer. Xiaomi has not only established a foothold in the field of smartphones, but also broke through in the air-conditioning market. Sales surpassed Gree and approached the throne of traditional giants, which is undoubtedly a powerful response to the remarks of that year.

The rise of Xiaomi air conditioners is not only a victory of technology and innovation, but also a manifestation of consumer choice. The ebb and flow of Xiaomi and Gree may be a microcosm of the overture of the old and new in the home appliance industry, indicating that the future air conditioner market will pay more attention to the integration of innovation, energy conservation and intelligence, and all of this will be determined by the remote control in the hands of consumers.

Building air conditioners with the idea of making mobile phones

The beginning of the story of Xiaomi’s air conditioner can be traced back to 2018, an era when the concept of smart home was surging. Xiaomi, the company known as the "king of cost performance", has built a huge smart ecological empire through smartphones, TVs, bracelets and other products. However, Lei Jun and his team did not stop there. They were keenly aware that in the field of smart home, there is still a blue ocean waiting to be conquered – the home air conditioner market.

At that time, the traditional air-conditioning industry was already a red sea, with fierce competition and serious homogeneity. But Xiaomi saw the difference, and they believed that with their deep accumulation of smart hardware and Internet of Things technology, they could bring disruptive changes to this traditional industry. So a bold idea quietly sprouted within Xiaomi: to create a true smart air conditioner, so that the cool wind of technology can blow into thousands of households.

In July 2018, the first product of Xiaomi Air Conditioning – "Mijia Internet Air Conditioning" was officially launched. This is not only an air conditioner, but also an important part of Xiaomi’s smart home ecosystem. It is equipped with Xiaomi’s own intelligence system, and users can realize remote control, intelligent adjustment, voice control and other functions only through the mobile APP, completely breaking the operating barriers of traditional air conditioners.

But behind this is the countless technical research and market surveys of the Xiaomi team. From the optimization of cooling and heating efficiency, to the innovation of appearance design, to the seamless connection of intelligent Internet technology, every step is full of challenges. Especially in ensuring product performance, how to maintain Xiaomi’s consistent high cost performance has become a major problem for the team. In the end, through the deep integration of the supply chain and the fine management of cost control, Xiaomi air conditioners made a stunning appearance at a very competitive price and quickly attracted the attention of the market.

The success of Xiaomi Air Conditioning has not stopped Xiaomi. Lei Jun’s ambitions are greater than imagined, and the excellence of a single product cannot represent the whole. The real competitiveness lies in building a complete smart home ecosystem. Therefore, Xiaomi Air Conditioning has begun to deeply link with other Xiaomi ecological chain products, such as cooperating with the Xiaomi Mi Band to automatically adjust the temperature according to the user’s sleep state; combining with Xiao Ai’s smart speaker to achieve voice control throughout the house, making smart life within reach.

This series of layout makes Xiaomi air conditioner no longer just a cold home appliance, but a warm and convenient intelligent life assistant in every family. Sales of Xiaomi air conditioners have also been rising. According to public data, since its launch in 2018, Xiaomi air conditioner business has maintained an average annual growth of more than 30%. By the end of 2021, the cumulative sales volume has exceeded the 5 million unit mark, successfully occupying a place in the highly competitive air conditioner market.

In the future, with the further integration of 5G, Internet of Things, artificial intelligence and other technologies, Xiaomi’s air conditioning business may go further.

What did Gree Xiaomi do right?

In just a few years, Xiaomi Air Conditioning has risen from the edge of the industry to the bright focus of the mainstream stage. So, what is Xiaomi Air Conditioning doing right by surpassing Gree?

When you sit in the office and whisper to your phone: "Xiao Ai, turn the air conditioner at home to 25 degrees." The Xiaomi air conditioner at home seems to have a heart-to-heart connection and starts slowly. When you return home, you will be greeted by a cool room. This is the first type of Xiaomi air conditioner to take the lead in the rivers and lakes – the intelligent design concept.

The Xiaomi air conditioner is not just a heating and cooling regulator, it is the guardian of the smart home of the Xiaomi ecological chain, seamlessly integrated into the Mijia ecosystem, making remote control and voice commands a reality. Imagine, whether it is a hot afternoon in the sun or a cold winter night, you only need to touch your fingertips or voice call to make the temperature of your home just right. This sense of control at will is the unique charm that Xiaomi air conditioner gives users.

What’s more impressive is its intelligent scene mode, which is like a caring life assistant, learning your living habits and automatically adjusting to the most comfortable temperature, which is both energy-saving and environmentally friendly.

If intelligence is the wing of Xiaomi Air Conditioning, then the price of being close to the people is its solid feet, which allows it to firmly establish itself in the market. Xiaomi Air Conditioning is well versed in cost performance and interprets the brand philosophy of "good but not expensive" with practical actions. In the air conditioning industry, high-end models that cost thousands of yuan at every turn are everywhere, but Xiaomi is like a clear stream. With its highly competitive price and excellent functions and quality, it quickly won the favor of consumers.

Lei Jun’s game of chess was far-reaching and accurate. He may have foreseen that in today’s consumption upgrade, consumers are not only pursuing the basic functions of products, but also seeking the satisfaction of "value for money". The appearance of Xiaomi air conditioners is like a timely rain in summer, allowing consumers to enjoy the comfort and convenience brought by cutting-edge technology at a lower cost, thus standing out among many brands and building a sky of their own.

In the face of the rise of Xiaomi air conditioners, Dong Mingzhu, the head of Gree, may have been confused. In her opinion, the core of home appliances lies in quality, and excellent quality is the passport of the market. However, times are changing, and consumer demand is also quietly changing. Under the wave of intelligent technology, simple "hard core" is no longer enough to sum up the whole market. People yearn for a smarter and more convenient lifestyle.

The success of Xiaomi Air Conditioning is the best interpretation of this trend. It tells us that the future competition is not only the competition of the product itself, but also the accurate grasp of consumer psychology and future trends. In the blue ocean of smart home, only by constantly innovating and embracing change can we ride the wind and waves.

Therefore, whether it is for Xiaomi air conditioners or the entire home appliance industry, continuous exploration of the boundaries of intelligence, continuous optimization of user experience, while maintaining the price of the people’s line, will be the key to future development. On this road, Xiaomi air conditioners have gone out of their own pace, proving that in the era of smart home, intelligence and cost-effectiveness are the king of winning the market.

The story is not over, and the chapter of smart home is slowly unfolding. The contest between Xiaomi air conditioner and Gree is just a scene in this game of change. On the stage of the future, who can say who will lead the trend next? But what is certain is that it will be the brand that understands users best and is closest to the pulse of the times.

Cycling South East Asia, New Navigation Unlocks More Grounded Travel

Motorcycle travel around South East Asia is the way many riders dream of traveling! Today, it is no longer difficult to conquer the land of adventurers on two-wheeled electric donkeys to Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar, the Philippines, and even Singapore. Google Maps’ recently launched multi-country motorcycle navigation mode is designed for this purpose.

Google Maps motorcycle navigation page effect, infographic

Many of you may have noticed that Google Maps’ "two-wheeled mode" arrived in India, the world’s most prosperous two-wheeled transportation market, at the end of 2017. At the end of April 2018, the "two-wheeled mode" was unlocked in Indonesia, and at the end of June, the "two-wheeled mode" version was unlocked in Malaysia. In the past week, this new tool menu has added more countries and regions in South East Asia to the "bike-friendly" list, including Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, and Taiwan.

Google Maps’ "two-wheeled mode" was introduced to provide motorcycle and bicycle riders with more recognizable directions. Compared with the car navigation mode, its advantages are more user-friendly and more down-to-earth. In the updated Android version (via Google Play), we can see that the map will be impassable to many cars, but the narrow alleys, dirt roads, unnamed roads, and bicycle lanes that motorcycles and bicycles can enter are clearly marked. Customized routes will be created according to the user’s needs, accurate travel time will be estimated, and up-to-date street views will be provided. In addition, the usual prompts in the car navigation mode, such as "Go straight on Victoria Street and turn left after 500 meters", are also replaced by more clear and easy-to-understand expressions, such as "Turn left at the National Design Centre in Singapore".

The best thing about the "two-wheeled model" is that it chooses to serve countries and regions, without exception, densely populated places with high rates of motorcycle and bicycle penetration. Travelers to these destinations also tend to travel by bicycle. On the one hand, South East Asia generally has fewer restrictions on two-wheeled transportation, and on the other hand, it is because of the constant narrow road travel, which is a new and interesting way to travel, and saves time and effort.

Regrettably, Google Maps’ motorcycle icon is only available on Android Google Maps 9.67.1 above. iOS when the version will be released, and which countries will be unlocked next, it is not known.

Hagia Sophia Cat Instagram image of Hagia Sophia Cat

Recently, there was a hot topic on Instagram – "Did you know there was a cat in the Hagia Sophia Cathedral in Istanbul?" Not to mention that many travelers who visited the Hagia Sophia Cathedral had seen the European shorthair cat named Gli, and even took a photo with it and held its claws.

Gli has lived within the cathedral’s thousand-year-old walls for more than a decade, and in a sense, it is the true owner of Hagia Sophia. Here, it lives like a queen, not only has a special person to serve it, but also has its own social account. Gli has many fans around the world because of its noble appearance, good pose and willingness to interact with strangers. According to people familiar with the matter, Obama also met with it briefly during his visit to Turkey.

Umut Bahceci, a tour guide in Istanbul who is also publicly known as the manager of the account Hagia Sophia Cat, is considered the closest human being to, and the most knowledgeable about, the Queen’s every move. Recently, to celebrate Gli’s 14th birthday, and also to give some practical advice to the flocking cat lovers, Bahceci revealed the daily habits of the cat owner. He mentioned that whenever Gli wants to make contact with people, he will come to the hut under the minaret, and when he is tired and does not want to be hugged, he will sit on the’divine stone ‘below the dome. In addition, different times and seasons, Gli’s favorite places of activity are also different. In winter, it will follow the beams of light from the heights and stop in front of the warm altar, but in summer mornings, most of them will stay in front of the cathedral window. When the soft sun shines on his face, Gli will show a cute expression of slightly squinting eyes. Travelers who want to kiss Fangze might as well try to touch their heads at this time, or press the shutter to record their signature smile.

The "God’s Stone" under the church dome is one of Gli’s favorite places.

The news that Yosemite National Park in central California has been closed since July 25 under the threat of wildfires is disappointing, but on the upside, outdoor enthusiasts may want to take the opportunity to try other worthy destinations, such as Chiribiquete National Park, which has recently been listed as a World Heritage Site.

Earlier this month, the expansion of Zilibiquete National Park, which is located at the border between the provinces of Guaville and Caqueta in southern Colombia, was announced, adding about 1.50 million hectares to the 2.70 million hectares of protected area designated in 1989. With this move, Zilibiquete has also become the largest rainforest national park in the world.

Located at the crossroads of the four ancient ecosystems of the Amazon, Orinokia, the Andes, and the Guyana Shield, Tsiribekt National Park is rich in natural resources that no other national park can match. It is also home to the oldest, largest, and densest surviving petroglyph archaeological site in the Americas. In total, the park contains more than 70,000 ancient paintings depicting animals, hunting, fighting, and dancing. The oldest murals date back more than 20,000 years.

Australia is planning to build a 76-kilometer trail for hikers and mountain bikers on the northern coast of Cairns. The route, called the Wangetti Trail, will be located on the coastline across the sea from the Great Barrier Reef. The two ends of the route will connect to the scenic Palm Bay and Port Douglas, passing through Kuranda National Park, and will be accompanied by multiple natural wonders such as wilderness, jungle, beaches and islands.

It is reported that it takes about 6 days and 5 nights to cross the Wangiti Trail on foot. If you choose to ride, you can complete the entire journey in as little as one day and one night. According to the local tourism board, the Queensland government has invested 950,000 Australian dollars in the construction of the trailhead’s infrastructure, and plans to develop more luxury campgrounds and eco-tourism facilities along the route.

Deep blue SL03

The dark blue brand has previously achieved monthly sales of more than 10,000 with two models. The new products will bring higher configuration on the basis of the same price, and perhaps there will be new changes in sales. Deng Chenghao, general manager of Deep Blue Automobile, said that the brand’s sales target in 2023 is 140,000-160,000 vehicles.

Guangzhou Automobile Chuanqi, which is also in the electrification transformation, also made its debut in the new model ES9, which is the second plug-in hybrid model after E9.

Chuanqi ES9

ES9 is a medium and large SUV with a length, width and height of 5110/1976/1780mm respectively and a wheelbase of 2920mm. The vehicle provides three rows of seats, supporting 6-seat and 7-seat modes, and the second and third rows can be laid down with one button. Although the price of this model has not yet been released, compared with the fuel version of Chuanqi GS8, the price of the vehicle will not be less than 150,000 yuan.

You Zheng, deputy general manager of Dongfeng Motor, and Chen Zhuo, vice president of Aouita Science and Technology, and other senior executives mentioned in an exclusive interview with Shell Finance reporter that mini-cars with lower configuration are gradually weakening. The sales of products that can really bring quality life to users will continue to grow. Ling Ran, an auto analyst, pointed out that there are dozens of products to choose from in the new energy vehicle market of 150,000-400,000 yuan, and what changes the new models released at Chengdu Auto Show can bring to the market needs continuous attention.

Andy Lau was slapped three times, did you forget it today?

(WeChat ID: dushetv)

In the past few months, the volume of "Hong Kong" in the film and television industry has been slightly higher.

[Tomorrow’s War] has been extended, and the aftertaste of [Detective War] is still there. Today, Huang Zihua’s [still think you’re the best] reputation has exploded, and the dark horse’s posture is strong.

It has to be said that the appeal of Hong Kong actors is still there.

Not to mention the play, the scene outside the play can also set off a wave of enthusiasm.

I’m sure everyone has seen this picture.

Liu Qingyun was filming at the scene, but no one recognized him. Everyone thought he was a real lunatic. Even many passers-by watched and saw him rush over to avoid subconsciously, with confused eyes.

[Detective Battle] After three months of filming, Liu Qingyun only had one script in his hands. Sometimes he got impatient and even picked up the camera phone…

No one has ever seen Liu Qingyun use a mobile phone on set.

38 degree weather, arrived at 6:30, put on makeup 8 hours in advance and started work, which left a deep impression on Tan Kai who was playing –

"His state is very quiet, not impulsive at all."

Actors in Hong Kong, China, are famous for going out for filming.

People in their 60s, 70s, and even 80s have been consecrated as Buddhas by word of mouth –

The fourth brother, Xie Xian, 80 years old, continued to shoot for 288 hours without stopping; Jackie Chan never wanted a double in a play, and was blacklisted by the insurance company.

The younger generation in their 40s and 50s gradually became the benchmark in the amazement of young people –

Zhang Weijian was willing to be entangled by a real snake in the filming; Yang Yi was slapped and the corners of his mouth were red and swollen in the play; Wang Haoxin slapped 19 times in the play and entered the play madly.

In Cantonese, this is called "de".

Mandarin is to be able to endure and persevere.

Translate again, that isDedication

Every time domestic audiences see these clips, they are envious and curious – how did this tradition come about?

Sure.

Today I will unfold, flatten, and use magnifying glass for you to see.

Let’s start with a name that you may not be familiar with.

"Uncle Shrimp" Guan Haishan.

More famous than him is his apprentice, Wu Mengda.

Senior figure.

But he’s just a supporting actor –

There is a saying in Hong Kong, China that the protagonist is called brother or sister, and the supporting actors are called uncle and aunt.

"Uncle Shrimp", the supporting role is undoubtedly, but in the end he still won the Lifetime Achievement Award given to him by TVB.

There is also such an interesting story between Guan Haishan and his apprentice Wu Mengda:

When Wu Mengda’s life was at its bleakest, his master gave him the book "Six Lectures on Acting". Later, the book went to Wu Zhenyu, Liu Qingyun, Zhou Xingchi and others.

In the end, the book "Self-Cultivation of Actors" that appeared in the hands of "Dragon Set" Yin Tianchou was based on this.

Going around, the professionalism is passed down from generation to generation, just like a stone thrown into the water, causing circles and ripples.

His apprentice Wu Mengda is a good example –

Not only can it cooperate with Zhou Xingchi’s nonsensical expressionism,At the same time, it can also learn from the experiential method school without falling behind.

In the early days, Wu Mengda accepted all plays in order to support his family, but he was never perfunctory.

After a long time, in various small roles that are different in the world, he has the ability to quickly grasp the role of the character and understand the effect of the character in the play.

Wait until it’s time for the performance.

This person’s life has long been thoroughly understood by him and condensed into the camera.

Why is this possible? Explain in one of his own habits – without a script.

I didn’t pay attention to the plot and dialogue at the scene, this is all done in advance.

At the scene, I will watch the opponent’s performance, how to make the opponent play better, or play each other out, there can be some special places, places of spark.

It’s not that I don’t look.

But it has long been memorized and thoroughly understood.

Zhou Xingchi told a story.

When he first worked with Wu Mengda, Wu Mengda was reading the script in his hand, and there was only one page. When Zhou Xingchi went out to eat and came back, he was still reading the page in his hand.

There are only three lines above:Hello, good morning. Bye.

Zhou Xingchi is curious, do you need to watch the three lines of dialogue for so long?

Wu Mengda said there is.

"I play every role as the protagonist."

Inside the shell of a snail is a dojo,In the limited performance space and scenes, complete the arc construction of your own exclusive characters.

Other supporting characters only hope that green leaves will be lined with red flowers; and he must be, a little green among the thousands of flowers.

One obvious manifestation of the dedication of Hong Kong actors is:true

Real fight really eat, real knife real gun, regardless of role priority and status.

[Losing an orphan] is considered to be the peak of Andy Lau’s acting skills, and the scene in which Andy Lau was slapped was a real hit.

Don’t be a substitute, the sound of every sound is clear to the ears through the screen.

Director Peng Sanyuan stood beside him, covering his mouth the whole time, his eyes unbearable.

Wang Jing once shook his head in public and said that Andy Lau’s life was not lived by people, and he had not eaten rice for ten years.

Chow Yun-fat must have seen the famous scene of beating 12 eggs with one hand in [Tiger Out], and then swallowing it raw with his neck raised.

Lu Yu once mentioned this scene in an interview.

I don’t care how big my stomach is, Chow Yun-fat said. Maybe I will vomit after eating. At that time, the director said "camera" and swallowed it. It’s that simple.

In [Anti-Black Passenger A].

The scene of Jiang Jiamin being buried alive was suffocating.

She lay in the deep pit in this state for nearly half an hour.

Chen Baixiang and Zhou Xingchi filmed [Tang Bohu Dot Autumn Fragrance] and there was a scene where ink was splashed.

Later in a program, Chen Baixiang revealed that the ink splash went directly to his nose, but he endured it in order not to delay the progress.

After the performance, he washed the ink for more than four hours.

In Xiao Zhengnan’s [Great Eunuch], the swill he ate was the real swill prepared by the crew.

Grabbing food from beggars, the chicken thighs fell into the sewage and were also picked up and sent to his mouth.

Because in the play, he is starving and cold.

Speaking of the truth, I have to mention the martial arts actors in Hong Kong, China.

Male Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Donnie Yen to Liu Jiahui, Zou Zhaolong, Yuan Biao, etc., female Hui Yinghong, Yang Ziqiong, Hu Huizhong…

In order to make his debut or become famous, he almost used his life as a prop.

Jumping off a building, falling straight, crashing, skyscooters, human flesh sandbags…

Those intense and even dangerous scenes once became the film’s biggest selling point, laying a solid foundation for the prosperity of Hong Kong martial arts films and an important weight for going global.

CCTV’s cultural documentary "Screening Room 10: Legends of Chinese Film History" dedicated to kung fu, telling the stories behind the scenes.

How far is it really?

In Hong Jinbao’s words, he dared to do anything. In Yuan Wu’s words,That was exchanged for life.

No exaggeration.

When Yuan Wu was filming [Five Lucky Stars], the ambulance was prepared in advance. In his scene, he first fell out of the glass window, then fell on the road, and finally landed on his head.

After filming, he went straight to the hospital.

Even foreign colleagues come to visit the class and feel incredible: Do you dare to do this?

Qian Jiale, one of the martial arts actors, recalled that shouting "click" was not to call it a day, but to save people.

Beyond the scope of ordinary people and ordinary people, it is almost insane.

Later, everyone’s understanding of that group of actors was finally revealed by Tsui Hark’s words:

"What they did in the past, no one will be able to do in the future."

Of course, now we don’t need to use our fists to vent our emotions and support justice, punish evil and promote good. That era will eventually become a thing of the past.

Some people may ask, is this really necessary?

For a talented actor, it may be debatable. But in a short period of time, truth is undoubtedly the fastest way to get into the play, the only shortcut, and the only way to make up for the shortcoming and "deceive" himself and "deceive" the audience.

In [Save Mr. Wu], Andy Lau’s role of being strangled requires the feeling of suffocation and blue veins bulging.

So what do you do?

Come on.

In the Star Talk interview, the director revealed a detail:

"That actor, after Andy finished speaking, he still didn’t dare to strangle him."

Later, it was Andy Lau who persuaded him again and again, and the scene was successfully filmed.

To what extent? His eyes were bloodshot and he stuck out his tongue.

That was the scene.Only then did Andy Lau realize that when he was strangled by the neck, his tongue would fall out by itself.

For actors, it is not surprising that controlling their bodies and organs is a very common means of performance.

But against the backdrop of peers, it appears increasingly rare and valuable.

Do you still remember Ren Jialun’s plastic muscle clothes in "Meeting Junchu", which were pulled out and repeatedly "whipped corpses"?

You know, a year ago, Hong Kong actor Zhang Zhenlang lost 18 kilograms of weight and trained for a year to produce a pair of washboards in order to star in Hai Zhenglan, one of the male protagonists in [The King of Boxing].

Not to mention the fact that less than a minute into the ring in the first season, 56-year-old Lai Yaoxiang lost 9 kilograms in two months.

Of course, this is invisible to the parties involved. Huo Jianhua was fortunate enough to witness it with his own eyes once.

Shooting "Odd Man Yizhi Mei" is almost done, and there is a scene that needs to fall to the ground. Liao Qizhi has been shooting for almost 20 hours in a row for this scene.

At the scene, there were still all kinds of hard falls.

At that time, Huo Jianhua thought to himself, so dedicated. But when the character "died", Liao Qizhi fell to the ground with a snap, because he was old and his physical strength was difficult to support.

At the same time, Huo Jianhua also accepted a solid dedication class.

The TVB training class still uses Liao Qizhi’s improvisation as a teaching material –

In the 1980 version of "Shanghai Beach", Zhou Runfa played Xu Wenqiang with a severed finger, and there was a scene of eating with a severed finger. Zhou Runfa temporarily played it: the cut on the severed finger was painful, and the bowl in his hand fell.

Liao Qizhi, who was in the play, immediately responded: Reach out to take the bowl and read the dialogue.

The bone-turning palm will eliminate the crisis invisibly.

A seemingly brilliant reaction is inseparable from long-term and solid training.

Wang Zulan once took a group of TVB artists on a show "go LIVE! Sitcom", and the "Infinite Training Class" crew they formed presented many TVB classics, but also expressed the hardships behind the actors in Hong Kong, China.

TVB actors who hold up half the sky from Hong Kong TV, everyone has gone through the stage of unforgettable walk-on.

Zhang Zhenlang revealed in the show that the previous scene was filmed at 4 am, but he received a call saying that there was a role to be played at 7 am. But that role was just a stand-in.

Hearing this, Yingda, the guest present, opened his mouth in shock.

However, this is the norm at TVB.

Before Liu Qingyun became famous, he also ran the dragon trap for nearly 10 years. He said that in those years, he was so depressed that he didn’t have time to go home to sleep or fall in love. He felt like a prop rented to the movie studio.

Chow Yun-fat worked around the clock, and even slept on the set… Zhang Jiahui was beaten and cried when he was a martial artist, and was even teased as "the king of dragon traps".

Hu Xinger said that she had been filming for more than 20 hours a day on TVB. Unhappy under high pressure lasted for ten years.

What’s more poignant is that Stephen Chow [King of Comedy] is completely realistic in his tragic struggle.

A few years ago, at the press conference of Xingye [New King of Comedy], Wang Baoqiang recalled the sadness of his pre-fame. Xingye, who stood by the side, listened carefully and focused.

Finally, he sighed with emotion: Anyway, the two of us "dead guys" are the same.

In a cutthroat competitive environment, acting is a disenchanted profession from the outset.

It is no different from other professions, it is just a livelihood to support the family. Everyone must start from a novice, play a supporting role, and then become a high-profile protagonist.

Just like fighting monsters in the workplace. There will be no less hardships and mistakes that should be suffered and made.

When Leung Ka Fai played tricks on Chow Yun Fat, the action he designed was scolded by the director "Who do you think you are, Napoleon?"

Before being nominated for the Golden Horse Award for Best Supporting Actor, it took Xue Lin 20 years to reach the threshold of acting.

He even said,One-third of his salary is earned by being scolded.

After the transformation of the TVB training class, those who enter the training class learn not only acting, but also dubbing, hosting, vocal music, image management, market management, martial arts, and even lighting, receiving people and things, and writing scripts.

There is an exam every three months, and if you fail, you will be eliminated. Near graduation, there are also exams, but if you fail, you will not be able to graduate.

Although the training is hard, the competition is still fierce. In the glory days of TVB, the number of applicants for the training class can be as high as 6,000, and only more than 40 people are selected.

In the hard training day after day, professionalism has long been internalized into self-discipline –

Punctuality, focus, extreme…

But strangely, almost no one complained when they left, because they knew that without TVB, no audience would know them.

Professionalism is most reflected in Hong Kong, China –

In the streets of Hong Kong, you can meet the best actor at any occasion.

Chow Yun-fat, who seemed to be alone on the subway, Zhou Yun-fat, who bargained for food in the vegetable market; Liu Qingyun, an enthusiastic citizen who was interviewed; Gu Tianle, a pretty boy who traveled by battery car;

As well as Huang Rihua, who was met by Lu Yu and Zhou Runfa when traveling in a low-key manner.

In the eyes of Hong Kong people, an actor is just an identity and a job. If you leave this job, you will return to the life of ordinary people.

For example, many actors who have changed careers but are still dedicated and low-key.

Paul Che, who plays a master in a number of costume movies, was working as a supervisor in a vegetable market when he received the news that he was competing for the best actor at the Taipei Film Festival with [The Old Man and the Dog] at the age of 59.

The daily work is not on the set, but handling customer complaints, water, electricity, transportation, and catching thieves.

After receiving the news, he was happy for a while, and then he began to struggle with the situation: how to thank and how to meet people. Finally, he didn’t want to. "Waste your energy, go to bed, and get up at four o’clock tomorrow morning to start work."

The news of the competition for the best actor entered the vegetable market, and the owner congratulated: "If you win, I will give you a grouper."

Fish is the biggest and most sincere compliment that stall owners give to dedicated actors.

Zhang Aijia’s apprentice, Yang Qi, once nominated the golden horse female match. Later, he worked as a security guard in the university and even worked part-time as a flower seller to help the chef.

But she still persists in practicing her acting skills, in order to ensure that one day "she will not be too rusty and too nervous."

Acting don’t think too much of yourself, don’t belittle yourself when you leave the spotlight, and straighten your mindset.

And Hong Kong itself strongly advocates this professionalism.

Koo Ming-wah, a thousand-year-old hero, joined the industry in 1990 and was nominated for Best New Actor at the 12th Hong Kong Film Awards for his role as a groom in [Mong Kok Racecourse].

He spoke about the unexpected nomination in a talk show.

Everyone wonders how anyone could be nominated.

"Because no one knows the nominee."

Gu Minghua himself knew that this was a third-class film in the eyes of others, and it was inevitable that it would be put on colored glasses. Of course, it lost. The nominee was Yuan Yongyi [Yafei and Yaji].

The opponents also include Zhu Yin of [Truant Dragon 2] and Zheng Xiuwen of [Flying Tiger Elite Human Love].

But the reason for the nomination is simple:

There you go.

In 2018, at the 37th Hong Kong Film Awards ceremony, an award called "Professionalism Award" was won by a grassroots employee named Yang Ronglian.

No star, no background.

When she took the stage to accept the award, the leaders of the Hong Kong film industry stood up collectively, and everyone applauded enthusiastically.

Jackie Chan said that she is a very important person and would not be used to it without her.

Leslie Cheung, Gong Li, Chow Yun-fat, Tony Leung, Louis Koo, Nicholas Tse… Almost everyone who has filmed in Hong Kong has enjoyed her meticulous service.

Yang Ronglian is illiterate, and the eating and drinking of hundreds of people in the crew is a big problem. If you can’t read, you will memorize your name, and almost everyone’s preferences will be recorded.

Is it difficult to make tea?

"It’s not that simple. It doesn’t mean just passing water. You have to see if the actors are free and if the directors are free."

At the right time, serve delicious refreshments. Sister Lian has done the tea work to the extreme.

The crew started work at 6 o’clock, and she had to get up at 4 o’clock. She worked for more than ten hours a day and could only rest at night.

One time, she did the Gu Tianle version of "Condor Hero" and Andy Lau version of [Machine Boy’s True and False Weilong] ([Dragon God Prince]). She didn’t go home for seven days and seven nights.

Dedication, no less than any professional actor.

See the stitches for meticulous service, this honor is well deserved.

Coincidentally.

2009 University of Hong Kong. An aunt who worked as an assistant chef and cleaner for 44 years was named an honorary fellow.

She didn’t have much earth-shattering or outstanding contributions, just an ordinary worker who couldn’t be more simple.

When she passed away, people from all walks of life in Hong Kong, China, mourned her.

The media published articles to mourn;

Madison, the president of the University of Hong Kong, said that she has left a glorious tradition for the University of Hong Kong.

The University of Hong Kong specially produced a short film for her and updated the homepage of its official website: I will miss you forever, Third Sister-in-law.

Like Sister Lian, this third sister-in-law, Yuan Sumei, also achieves dedication to the extreme.

In order to soften the sago, in the days when there was no pressure cooker, you had to stand in front of the stove for two hours; run to get medicine for sick children; in order to let students eat delicious horse bean cakes, you had to cook them on slow heat for an hour, and keep stirring during the period…

Many children studying at Hong Kong University have been carefully cared for by the third sister-in-law. And she is never ostentatious and works hard.

Later, she was compiled into the university’s orientation textbook and written into the dormitory song that freshmen must learn:

There are three treasures in the university hall: the rotating copper ladder, the four unlike sculptures and the three sisters-in-law.

The ceremony was conducted entirely in English, and because she used Chinese, she deliberately read the praise in Cantonese.

If said.

The dedication of an actor comes out of it.

It is a survival move that does not invest, there is no food to eat, and it is a hard-working and tenacious survival force that is "forced".

Then, the dedication of these grassroots workers is more like an interpretation of the fighting spirit of Hong Kong, China.

Regardless of occupation, try your best to do your job well, be hard-working and forging ahead.

This dedication has helped Hong Kong, China, to take off and thrive, and has also become a valuable asset and spiritual portrayal that has been passed down for generations.

Nowadays, careers are changing, the environment is changing, and so are people.

The only thing that hasn’t changed is the tacit understanding between the two generations –

There is sweat, there is food.

Look at Jiang Wen and Zhou Xingchi! What do young actors cross-border directors rely on?

1905 movie network feature The short film co-directed with Qu Yuan was shortlisted for the Golden Goblet Award Short Film Unit of the 25th Shanghai International Film Festival. The film focuses on a 19-year-old girl who lives alone in the city. Her mother’s violence has left a long-term psychological shadow on her. Finally, borrowing Qu Yuan’s "Tian Wen", the girl gradually discovers the meaning and outlet of life.

Through this short film, Wen Qi officially unlocked a new identity – director."It’s actually interesting to me. In the creative process, directing and acting are two very different perspectives, and sometimes they even contradict each other. You need to sacrifice a part of the perspective to complete a good work."

Wen Qi, who handed over her directorial debut, said that looking at her performance from the director’s perspective was difficult and interesting, and "this time I have learned a lot of experience with real guns and live ammunition."

The 20-year-old Wen Qi picked up the guide tube, adding another vibrant face to the director world and a youthful female force.

It is worth mentioning that with the emergence of the post-00s and the growing up of the post-90s, more and more young actors are beginning to cross the field of directing. The new generation of Chinese films is going further and further on the road of exploration and has never stopped.

PART.1

After many mature actors have accumulated a certain amount of experience, they are keen to direct their own works. In recent years, it can be seen that there are many actors who are new to cross-border directors, and their age is getting younger and younger.

The story consciousness had long been hidden in the young actors’ minds. They eventually turned their imagination into a real image with their actions.

Wen Qi, who was born in 2003, began to consider leaving a film of her own very early on. "The so-called self is not only the film I have acted in, but the film that can really represent me. Maybe after a long time, people will still think of me when they mention this film." Wen Qi said.

In "She Asks," the 19-year-old heroine is about her age, reflecting her observations of her peers. The recurring appearance of mirrors and water extends the lens space and highlights her creative expression as a director.

Also born after 2000, Lai Guanlin tried to write and direct himself earlier than Wen Qi. As early as 2021, he created the short film "Winter and Spring Fight". The story is written by Lai Guanlin himself, and the romantic title of the film is derived from "mountainsA poem from The Little Poet. The film tells the story of the daily life of a pair of left-behind siblings in a village in Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, who won the honorary promotion of the third Golden Rooster Short Film Season New Wing Program.

Talking about his original intention of becoming a director, Lai Guanlin said frankly, "I just want to shoot things and visualize what I write."

The theme focuses on the future of Beijing and tells a heartwarming story about robots. Chen Ruoxuan, 28, also wrote and directed the short film "A House" and was shortlisted for the 13th Beijing International Film Festival Young Chinese Director Venture Capital Training Camp.

"I just wanted to write something, but I didn’t expect to be selected from hundreds of scripts." Chen Ruoxuan said bluntly that becoming a director was completely unintentional.

Like many ordinary new directors, whether Wen Qi, Lai Guanlin or Chen Ruoxuan, the actors who have crossed the border have started to experiment with short films. In addition to the director, or the starring role, or the screenwriter, they assume more than one pivotal core role in the stills, making the entire short film more clearly imprinted. Perhaps as Wen Qi said, "This is to represent their own work."

"She Asked" was shortlisted for the short film section ** the Shanghai Film Festival, "Winter and ****** Fight" made a splash on the Golden Rooster Awards stage, and "A House" was a work ** the ******* Film Festival’s venture capital training camp. The recognition ** domestic first-line film festivals also proves that these young people who have crossed the line ** actors and directors have unlimited potential. Lai Guanlin intends to apply for directing studies. Chen Ruoxuan also told 1905 Film Network that after taking the first step, he will go further and further down the road ** directing.

In the future, they will continue to unleash their potential and explore new imaging possibilities.

Compared with the above-mentioned younger generations, the 90-year-old has advanced from short film shooting to feature film creation.

"Your Favorite Color" focuses on the memories of a middle-aged man who plays rock and roll. As early as the age of 30, he made a movie for himself, completing the transition from actor to director. In addition, "Love is a Gun" is written, directed and starred by him. In an earlier interview, Li Hongqi said that he is making a new film.

"Post-00s" Wen Qi, Lai Guanlin, "Post-90s" Chen Ruoxuan and Li Hongqi, represented by them, it is not uncommon for a new force to cross-border directors from actors, and there may be an endless stream in the future.

He revealed his deep thoughts on the direction of production in the past. The 93-year-old had long been looking forward to unlocking the director’s identity, "Acting is a stepping stone, and behind the scenes, you can feel the intentions of every film creator more deeply." A few years ago, he also said in an interview that after enough precipitation, he would consider making his own film.

After spending a long time on the set, cross-border directing seems to have become a new development direction for young actors.

PART.2

Regarding the phenomenon of actors, even young actors, "crossing the border", he did not shy away from saying: "This is normal. In addition to actors and screenwriters, photographers can also be directors, and there are many excellent examples. This only proves that the film industry itself provides a lot of room for young people to rise and is full of vitality."

In the past, there were indeed many successful examples of young actors and directors who had crossed the border. Compared with the current batch of new directors who crossed the border, although the seniors rarely tried to cross the border in their early twenties, they were extremely adaptable after crossing the border and achieved brilliant results early.

The director who turned out to be a handsome and passionate knight in Gu Long’s pen was only 29 years old when he made his feature debut. Douban’s 8.6-point "The True Story of the Mad" is still a classic. The film not only made the then-rookie director Er Dongsheng mention the Best Director of the 6th Hong Kong Film Awards and other nominations, but also ushered in a perfect start for his directorial career.

After getting rid of the youth of "Beijing Love Story", when she picked up the director tube, she was only 29 years old. This work, which she wrote, directed and starred in, not only won the Best Director’s Debut Award at the 23rd Chinese Film Golden Rooster Awards, but also helped Xu Jinglei nominate for the Golden Rooster Award for Best Actress that year.

With a household name, he was only 31 when he filmed his first director’s work; he was only 32 when he co-directed.

Looking back, in their twenties or early thirties, when they crossed over to become directors, they were also young actors in their prime.

With Zhou Xingchi as the representative, he became very popular when he crossed the border, and his high national popularity naturally became the confidence of famous actors to try to make films. Of course, there are also unknown actors who have the courage to cross the border. Even if the initial stage is like a splash, but one step at a time, they eventually grow into independent directors.

At the beginning of his debut, he often "played soy sauce" in Hong Kong films as an actor. The 31-year-old director did not attract much attention. It was not until his debut that his directing ability was revealed.

As far as the current social and employment environment is concerned, the age of 35 is often considered a difficult pass. If you cross it, you may usher in a new dawn; if you can’t cross it, you may be gradually eliminated in the tide of the times.

The same is true for actors, especially those who are less well-known.35-Year-old actors may face the dilemma of losing opportunities, but 35 is the golden age for directors to create. In a sense, young actors can not only maximize their creative initiative, but also help broaden their development space and create more opportunities for personal career advancement.

It was undeniable that there were examples of actors failing to become directors. But whether it was Jiang Wen, Zhou Xingchi and other senior directors who had not seen a new film for a long time, or still active in the film industry, etc., they had proved time and time again that there were infinite possibilities for actors to cross-border directors.

The younger you are, the earlier you try, the lower the cost of trial and error, and the greater the room for development. The cross-border director of young actors is undoubtedly an active attempt. Looking forward to more young actors, bold challenges, and new colors for Chinese movies!
